Former Mamelodi Sundowns and Wydad Club Athletic coach Rulani Mokwena looks set to leave Libyan giants Al Ittihad SC after just four months.
Mokwena took over in March, when his side were unbeaten on top of the log but things didn’t go according to plan when the campaign entered the playoffs.

They finished the regular season with three wins and a draw, but after just two wins, two draws and a defeat Mokwena’s side even dropped out of the CAF inter-club competition spots.
To make matter worse, they also lost the Libyan Cup final 2-0 to their arch-rivals Al-Ahli Tripoli to raise question marks ahead of 2026/27.
Before his midseason move to Al Ittihad, Mokwena was in charge of Algerian giants MC Alger, winning the Algerian Super Cu.
He was also leading the Algerian Ligue 1 comfortably but opted to join the new project in Tripoli, while his former side secured the league title.
However, indications from Libya are that Mokwena is set to depart the club after mutually agreeing to leave his role following the disappointing end to the 2025/26 campaign.
