Hannover 96 and Bafana Bafana defender Ime Okon has spoken about how working with veteran coach Gavin Hunt elevated his game.
The two worked together at SuperSport United for some time before Hunt was sacked towards the end of the last season while Okon also left the club at the end of the campaign.

Okon credits Hunt with instilling a drive to avoid complacency, even when lauded by many, noting that the former SuperSport coach’s rigorous approach shaped him into a mentally resilient footballer.
“It was so good because he demanded a lot from us. Even when you thought you were doing well, he’d remind you that it’s not enough, you have to work harder than that,” the towering Bafana defender said.
“Working with him builds your mindset, builds you as a player. For me, it was the best decision to play under him at that age.
“He was such a tough coach because you had to do the extras, and I’m just happy that I worked with him.”
