Pitso Mosimane has collected his first win with Abha Football Club after beating the Afghanistan national team 4-1 in a friendly match on Thursday.
Mosimane had started his reign at the Saudi Pro League club with a 2-0 friendly defeat against Al Hilal Omdurman last week.
However, they have now collected a morale-boosting win over the number 152 in the latest FIFA rankings.
Abha were up 2-1 at half-time, and added two more goals in the second half for an impressive 4-1 win.
Hassan Al Ali, Saad Bguir and new signing Marcel Tisserand scored for Mosimane’s new side.
Mosimane and Abha will have their first official match on 15 February when they will face Al-Taawoun in the Saudi Pro League.
They currently are without a win in eight league games, losing seven of those, and have dropped to 17th place on the log, five points away from safety, with Mosimane being tasked to save the club from relegation after agreeing to a short-term contract until the end of the season.
Abha are Mosimane’s second club in Saudi Arabia after he guided Al Ahli back into the Saudi Arabia but left the club before the Public Investment Fund took over.
