Pitso Mosimane’s Al Ahli side stretched their unbeaten run to 13 games since his arrival with a 2-0 win over Al-Qaisumah FC on Saturday.
After moving to the summit of the Saudi Arabia First Division last week, they continued their winning run with four consecutive wins.
Algeria international Ryad Boudebouz opened the scoring in the 16th minute to get things going and silence the home crowd while Netherlands midfielder Hicham Faik finished off proceedings with a strike just after the hour mark.
Mosimane’s side now holds a three-point lead over second-placed Al Hazem, who they beat three weeks ago – and look one of the clear favourites to win promotion with 14 rounds of fixtures remaining in the season.
