Pitso Mosimane has confirmed that Esteghlal has already approached him for a contract extension after the recent upswing in results.
The South African took charge of the Iranian giants in October but had a tough start with three defeats. However, he has gone six games unbeaten since, winning three.
After stabilising things at the club, Mosimane confirmed that he was approached over a contract extension after just two months in charge.
“I have spoken to the club’s CEO, and he is willing to extend my contract,” he said at his post-match press conference.

“I am here and I would like to stay in Iran, but there is no contract on the table at the moment and whenever my contract is ready, I will make my decision quickly.
“Esteghlal deserved a better situation. The team’s situation has improved and the players are working hard. I have no problem staying in Iran and I have no problem with the Iranian style of play.
“I think more about football and if the conditions are good, I will have no problem. Some people said that the conditions in Iran are not good and did not recommend me to come, but I love Iran.”
Esteghlal CEO Farshid Samiei confirmed that the club are keen on extending with Mosimane and has opened talks, which he expects to finalise soon.
“I spoke with Mosimane last week and he expressed his desire to stay,” he told Varzesh3.
“The games are intense and we haven’t been able to talk properly yet. We will hold a meeting next week and talk to him about making the extension.”
