Pitso Mosimane has picked up his third victory with Al Ahli Saudi after beating Hajer on Wednesday.
Al Ahli returned to winning ways six days after their goalless draw with Al-Ain, picking up a 3-1 win.
Al Ahli got off to the perfect start thanks to Ryad Boudebouz opening the scoreline in the 11th minute.
Ziyad Aljohani made it 2-0 in 32nd minute to secure his side a comfortable half-time lead, while Hassan Al Ali netted his side’s third after 68 minute.
Modibo Maiga pulled one back for the visitors in the 10th minute of injury denying Mosimane’s men a third successive clean sheet.
However, the win saw Al Ahli climb up the table from 10th into fifth position, just three behind the promotion spots., while having three games in hand.
Al Ahli will be back in action on 27 December when they will face third-placed Al Arabi.
Overall, Al Ahli have now won thrice under Mosimane, while picking uo two draws.
