Pitso Mosimane has been praised for bringing stability to Abha Club after leading them out of the relegation spots with three games left to play.
The South African found the Saudi club in 19th position, with just 14 points after 19 matches and has now lifted them into 15th – one point above the relegation spots.
In the form table since Mosimane has taken over Abha sit in ninth place with 15 points in 12 matches under Jingles, although they have conceded the most after an 8-0 hammering by Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr.
But Mosimane has given the side he found five points short of the non-relegation spots a chance at survival, as in just 12 games in charge, Mosimane and his technical team collected four wins, three draws and five defeats to accumulate 15 points so far, scoring 12 goals and conceding 27.
His work has been praised by Sultan Majrashi, the supervisor of the Sunni football group at Abha Club.
“I believe that the lack of stability in the technical staff since the beginning of the season and the frequent changes are things that caused the first team’s results to vary,” he said, as per Aawsat.
“But we notice stability now with coach Mosimane and an increase in the team’s results, as he was able to almost achieve 16 points since his arrival, and we are very optimistic about achieving survival.”
Abha currently have three more games in their attempt to survive relegation. On the weekend they face Mosimane’s former club Al Ahli, who are in third spot, before they face 11th-placed Al Khaleej and bottom-placed Al Hazm.
