Sead Ramovic’s CR Belouizdad kicked Rulani Mokwena’s MC Alger out of the Algerian Cup, beating them 3-2 on extra-time.
Belouizdad were leading twice, scoring in the 17th minute via Mohamed Al Hammouda and Naoufel Khacef after 47 minutes, but Mokwena’s side twice came back.
The first drew level Ayoub Ghezala in the 30th minute, and again in the 90th minute through Mohamed Bangoura.
But despite Belouizdad being a man down from the 81st minute, Ramovic’s men celebrated an extra-time winner via You’ll Laouafi.
The win saw Belouizdad book their ticket for the Algerian Cup semi-finals and are now unbeaten in eight games.
Meanwhile, Mokwena’s side are winless in their last four games, losing three of those. The return to action on Saturday, facing second-from-bottom Mostaganem.
They are still ahead of leading the Algerian Ligue 1 with 37 points, one ahead of Constantine, but have four games in hand.
The run of bad results comes as Mokwena has been linked with a move to Libyan giants Al Ittihad, where he could once again link up with Thembinkosi Lorch.
