Bafana Bafana star Relebohile Mofokeng featured for Belgian outfit Royale Union Saint-Gilloise in a pre-season friendly against Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven.

Union Saint-Gilloise played out an entertaining 3-3 draw with PSV in a match held at the Philips Stadion in Eindhoven as both sides continued their preparations for the new season.

Mofokeng started the match on the bench before being introduced in the second half. The 21-year-old played the final 30 minutes, continuing to build match fitness following his recent move to Belgium.

‘President Yama 2000’ is already settling in well at his new club, making an impression after being brought on late in the game.

He nearly earned his first assist upon introduction, but Mac Allister’s attempt ended up on the post.

USG were 3-1 down and clawed their way back to earn the draw with Mofokeng assisting for the third goal in the 75th minute.

The talented midfielder recently completed a transfer to Royale Union Saint-Gilloise after an impressive spell with Orlando Pirates, where he established himself as one of the Premier Soccer League’s brightest young stars.

Mofokeng broke into the Pirates first team in 2023 after progressing through the club’s development structures, having joined the Buccaneers from the School of Excellence.

At international level, Mofokeng has also become a regular member of the Bafana Bafana squad.

He was part of the South African team during the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup in the USA, Mexico and Canada.
