Rulani Mokwena has celebrated his biggest win at MC Alger, thumping Mostaganem 5-0 on Saturday afternoon.
After going four games without a win, suffering three defeats, and rumours around his future at the Algerian giants, Mokwena’s men gave the perfect answer on the pitch.
They beat second-from-bottom Mostaganem 5-0 to extend their lead in the Algerian Ligue 1 to four points with three games in hand.
The game was tied at 0-0 at half-time, but Mokwena’s side ran riot in the second 45 minutes. They opened the scoring via Marwane Khelif after 48 minutes.
Mohamed Bangoura was the star of the show with a hat-trick, scoring in the 55th, 74th and 88th minute, while Abdelkader Menezia was on the scoresheet to score his side’s third in the 71st minute.
MC Alger are now sitting on 40 points from 18 games, having lost just twice.
