Rulani Mokwena has picked up another important win in the Algerian Ligue 1, as his MC Alger side are now 11 games unbeaten under the South African tactician.
Mokwena, who will celebrate a homecoming after being drawn in the same CAF Champions League group with Mamelodi Sundowns, picked up his seventh win in Algeria.
Aimen Bouguerra scored the only goal of the match in the 66th minute to secure another tight win for the defending Ligue 1 champions, this time over Saoura.
Alger defended their lead at the top of the log with now 19 points from just seven games, despite having played three less games than the chasing pack.
Mokwena’ side are two points ahead of Olympique Akbou and Oran, who both have 17 points from 10 games, while Saoura are fourth with 16 points.
