Wydad Club Athletic head coach Rulani Mokwena is of the notion that their latest win was more about collecting maximum points after they previously suffered a heavy defeat despite their beautiful football display.
Wydad returned to winning ways after beating struggling Moghreb Atletico Tetuan 2-1 away from home. The Red Castle bounced back when they needed to most which saw them move fifth and keep their Botola Pro Inwi hopes alive.
Mokwena emphasised that all that mattered on the evening was three points and not how they played because they played very well against Mes but still lost the game.
Wydad have lost only one match in eight matches, but that loss shook the Red Castle supporters some even started to doubt the South African mentor.
“Today we had to play for three points that’s all that matters,” Mokwena told the media.
“We played eight games, we lost one and it was a disaster, we lost only one match in eight matches, we went seven games unbeaten and then we lost the game against Mes and the world was coming to an end, so today we had to win the game and that’s all we did.
