Tau Breaks Silence After Al Ahly Exit

Bafana Bafana striker Percy Tau has penned a heartfelt farewell message to his former side Al Ahly as he sets his sight on a new journey in the Qatar Stars League.

Tau joined the Egyptian giants in August 2021 and has won almost everything on offer including 12 league titles and two CAF Champions league trophies while also participating in the Club World Cup. The former Mamelodi Sundowns man was officially unveiled as Qatar SC’s new signing this week.

In a letter published on his X page, Tau shared his gratitude with those that have walked the journey with him in Egypt, from club management, coaches, teammates and fans.

The 30-year-old also highlighted in the letter the triumphs he enjoyed at the club of the century as some of the greatest memories created.

“Dear Al Ahly people,” said Tau in his letter.

“From day one, I was here to make History, and together we made it. You my beloved ones, have been my home and my inspiration for the years I have been with you. Together we have made great and unforgettable memories.

“Together, we have won and celebrated 12 incredible Championships. I am really pleased to have achieved all of the great accolades with you, without saving a single drop of sweat. Each victory was made sweeter by your unwavering support and by seeing the smiles all over your faces. Your cheers, your passion, and your love have been the driving force behind my every moment on the pitch.

“Leaving is never easy, but I carry with me memories of joy, triumph, and unity for representing The Club of Century with this generation of great players. Many thanks to the President, Management, Coaches, Staff, the Players, and everyone who contributes to the Club.

“Thank you for being my family, my inspiration, and my greatest supporters. This isn’t a goodbye, but a heartfelt see you later.

“Forever Grateful, Percy Muzi Tau.”
