Bafana Bafana striker Percy Tau racked up 83 minutes for his new club Qatar SC as they picked up a morale-boosting 2-1 victory over Al-Shamal at the Suhaim bin Hamad Stadium on Thursday.
The 30-year-old South African sealed a big money move to the Gulf earlier this month having spent almost five years at Egyptian giants Al Ahly winning over 10 trophies.
On Thursday night, the ‘Lion of Judah’ was handed a start and picked up a yellow card in the 34th minute as Qatar SC secured maximum points at home to move into eighth position.
The hosts scored through Palestinian Ataa Jaber and Egyptian Ahmed Abdel Qader via a spot kick, while Al-Shamal were also awarded a penalty which was converted by Algerian striker Baghdad Bounedjah.

Tau and his teammates next face a daunting trip in the upcoming fixture against Al Ahli Doha on Friday, 7 February.
