Tau & Six Others Placed On Al Ahly Exit List – Report

Bafana Bafana forward Percy Tau as well as former Mamelodi Sundowns winger Luis Miquissone have been placed on Al Ahly’s exit list, according to reports.

A source close to Al Ahly has revealed that Tau has been added to the club’s axe list, which was put together by the club’s planning committee, btolat report.

Al Ahly have started to plan for next campaign already after failing eight points behind Zamalek in the Egyptian title race. Despite having one game in hand, their downward trend in form suggest the Club of the Century might end the season trophy less.

As a consequence, the club’s leadership will ring the changes at the Cairo-based side, with seven players on the club’s exit list.

Tau made the list, so has Luis Miquissone. In addition, Ali Lofti Mostafa Shobier, Mahmoud Wahid,  Mohamed Mahmoud and Mahmoud Metwaly have all also been added to the list.

The South African winger has been absent from the squad due to a muscle injury and his future at the club had already been questioned following the departure of Pitso Mosimane.

Overall, Tau has made 28 appearances for Al Ahly, scoring eight goals and assisting in six more.

However, the 28-year-old was only able to show his quality in flashes, such as his two goals and four assists in the CAF Champions League semi-final against ES Setif, but he couldn’t continuously convince on the pitch.

Tau is yet to feature under new Al Ahly coach Ricardo Soares, who is understood to be keen to give the winger a few games before deciding on his future.
