Wydad Draw 6th Successive Botola Match

Rulani Mokwena’s Wydad Athletic Club have drawn their sixth successive league match, after conceding a late equaliser against Olympic Safi.

Wydad are actually still unbeaten in the Botola Pro in 2025 but have now drawn six successive draws which was put a lot of pressure on Mokwena and his technical team.

The home side had opened the scoring thanks to a third-minute goal by Oussama Zemraoui but Safi drew level with three minutes to spare after Mehdi Ashabi scored.

Things were made more difficult for Mokwena’s men after 72 minutes when El Mehdi Moubarik was send off after receiving two yellow cards in the space of three minutes.

Cassius Mailula and Thembinkosi Lorch both started the game, and while the latter was taken off after 56 minutes, the former lasted 81 minutes.

The result saw Wydad drop six points behind AS FAR in second place, which would be needed to qualify for the CAF Champions League.

Wydad are actually unbeaten in the Botola Pro in 2025 but a recent run of five consecutive draws put lots of pressure on Mokwena and his technical team.

However, on Wednesday they beat Safi 1-0 thanks to a third-minute goal by Oussama Zemraoui.

Cassius Mailula and Thembinkosi Lorch both started the game, and while the latter was taken off after 56 minutes, the former lasted 81 minutes.
