Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies and University of Johannesburg (UJ) maintained their top two positions on the Hollywoodbets Super League table following their wins against TS Galaxy Queens and JVW Girls FC, respectively, in the second week of the new season.
Nthabiseng Majiya scored a brace, while Boitumelo Rabale, Chuene Morifi and Regina Mogolola were also on target for Sundowns. Busisiwe Ndimeni, Lesego Nkoane and Mamello Makhabane scored for the Rockets in the 5-3 eight-goal thriller in Soweto. The defending champions remain in pole position with six points, while Galaxy dropped to seventh with three points both from two matches.
UJ are behind Banyana ba style with six points after beating JVW 3-1 – a result that sees the Blue Diamonds third from bottom with no points after two games.
Meanwhile, University of Western Cape (UWC) complete the top three after thrashing First Touch Academy 7-1 in the mother city. Philisa Mjambane was the star of the show with a brace and an assist in that encounter, as the Blues got their first victory of the season. They have four points in two matches, while the Limpopo side are rock bottom with no points from the same number of games.
