Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies have successfully defended their Hollywoodbets Super League title, as they beat TUT Matsatsantsa on Saturday afternoon.
Jerry Tshabalala’s team won 5-0 in Tshwane in their penultimate game of the league campaign, and although second-placed UWC still have four games to play, they now mathematically cannot catch up.
The victory saw Sundowns move onto 80 points, and the club maintained their record of winning every HWBSL title since the league’s inception, with this being the fifth straight league championship victory.
Sundowns will have a chance to defend another title when next week’s CAF Women’s Champions League finals kick off, where UWC will also be competing. Sundowns will be chasing their third CAFWCL in four years.
