Sundowns Maintain Top Spot, UWC Suffer Shock Loss

The top three in the Hollywoodbets Super League standings remained unchanged after round 13 of matches this past weekend., although third-placed UWC suffered a shock defeat.

Defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies still hold pole position with 31 points after their 2-0 away win at Copperbelt Ladies in Lebowakgomo. Lebogang Ramalepe opened the scoring in the first minute, while Nthabiseng Majiya netted the winner in the 69th minute to see the hosts remain in 12th position with the same number of points from 13 matches.

University of Johannesburg (UJ) recorded the biggest result of the weekend to stay within reach in second position after they thrashed Thunderbirds Ladies 5-0 at home. A brace from Bryden Mokobi and goals from Thato Mofolo, Onelisa Nanasele and Adrielle Mbibe ensured that UJ secured equal points with Sundowns, though the former have played a game more.
