University of Western Cape (UWC) are back at the summit of the Hollywoodbets Super League table following wins against University of Pretoria (Tuks) and JVW FC this past week.
The Thinasonke Mbuli led outfit defeated Tuks 3-0 in the capital city last Wednesday and won 1-0 over the Blue Diamonds in Soweto over the weekend to reach 72 points from 28 matches.
That’s six points ahead of Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies, who have three games in hand following their successful CAF Women’s Champions League campaign in Ivory Coast.
Meanwhile TS Galaxy Queens moved up to third position on the log after defeating First Touch Academy 2-0 in Polokwane. Nompumelelo Nyandeni and Busisiwe Ndimeni were on the score-sheet, as the rookies moved to 57 points in their 27th outing. Galaxy are equal on points with JVW, who dropped to fourth spot based on goal difference after their loss to UWC.
Royal AM maintained fifth spot with 52 points after their 2-0 win against Thunderbirds Ladies at the Harry Gwala stadium. Thunderbirds are just above the relegation with 20 in 29 games and six points ahead of already relegated Coal City Wizards who were thrashed 6-1 by Durban Ladies in Umlazi.
