Violent Brawl & 5 Red Cards Overshadow HWBSL

A massive violent brawl in the KwaZulu-Natal Derby between Royal AM Ladies and Lindelani Ladies overshadowed this week’s Hollywoodbets League action, as five players were sent off.

Royal AM registered their first win of the season a 2-1 victory over Lindelani Ladies at the Prince Magogo Stadium. The result saw them jump four places up to 11th with seven points while the rookies remained in 15th place with four points both from seven matches.

The KZN sides are, however, in hot water with the South African Football Association (SAFA) after a brawl ensued among them late in the game which was Live on SABC 1. The referee issued out five red cards as a result of stopping the fight. According to a SAFA statement on Monday morning the FA will study the match commissioner’s report along with the TV footage before calling the sides to a disciplinary hearing for putting the integrity of the women’s game in disarray.
