Chippa United and Nigeria goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali made it clear that Kaizer Chiefs are one teams that he really wanted to play for in South Africa.
After having a very good Africa Cup of Nations with Nigeria in January, when they lost in the final to Ivory Coast, Nwabali was a wanted man with several teams believed to be interested in his services – both locally and abroad.
Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs were the two local teams being mentioned to be considering the Nigerian shot-stopper, but nothing materialised. Amakhosi went to get Rwandan international Fiacre Ntwari from TS Galaxy and the Buccaneers remained with Sipho Chaine and Melusi Buthelezi.
Nwabali again addressed the Chiefs rumours on Wednesday, admitting that a move to Chiefs would’ve interested him a lot.
“To be honest, Kaizer Chiefs is one of the clubs I really want to play for, this is a club I really want to play for in South Africa,” Nwabali told Ncube on MetroFM.

“Kaizer Chiefs is one of the clubs I wanted to play for with all my heart. I won’t say I’ve been supporting them but this is the club I felt like I want to play for.
“To be honest, the Rwanda guy [Ntwari] is really doing well with the club, I won’t take that away from him. That’s why I said Kaizer Chiefs was the club amongst all the clubs in South Africa I would like to join.”
