AmaZulu have snatched up Chippa United goalkeeper Darren Johnson who is currently with South Africa for the COSAFA Cup.
Johnson didn’t need much game-time needed to show his talent, after he only made five appearances in all competitions this past season, conceding eight goals.
After the exit of Veli Mothwa, AmaZulu were left thin in the goalkeeping department and decided to go for the Chippa shotstopper.
The former Spurs GK joins Usuthu for an undisclosed transfer fee on a long-term contract.
He is expected to compete with Ghanaian international goalkeeper Richard Ofori and possibly Olwethu Mzimela, who was on loan at Durban City last season.
