Baroka FC chairman Khurishi Mphahlele has expressed pride in former player Tshepo Mashiloane’s progress to Orlando Pirates saying he is pleased that the player gets an opportunity to change his life.
Mashiloane spent three seasons with the Limpopo side before sealing a move to the Buccaneers and subsequently travelled with the Sea Robbers on their preseason tour of Spain.

The 23-year-old midfielder is not the first player from Bakgaga who moved to Pirates but is among a small group that were discovered in the villages of Limpopo by the club and went on to play for a big team.
Speaking at Baroka’s 2025 season launch, the Bakgaga boss also made reference to striker Evidence Makgopa adding that he is proud that his club gets to make such a difference in its community.
“I must congratulate one of our boys Tshepo Mashiloane, he is in Spain now as I’m speaking to you,” said Mphahlele.
“He is in Spain now with Orlando Pirates. Four years ago Tshepo Mashiloane was playing in the dusty streets of Moroke village, that’s four years ago and today he is in Spain.
“We are very much proud. I hope we can all follow Tshepo Mashiloane and [Evidence] Makgopa who we also discovered in the same area along the R37.
“The R37 is not only famous for thugs, there are also boys who play football the side of R37. Makgopa is from that side, Mashiloane is from that side and even ‘Sniper’ [Mabasa] is from that side.
“R37 has players and there’s no other professional club along the R37 except Baroka. So, players come here taste professional football and go on to improve their lives.”
