Bay Part Ways With Former Pirates Defender

Richards Bay have decided against renewing Tercious Malepe’s contract.

Malepe joined Bay as a free agent after he left AmaZulu. He signed a short-term contract with the Natal Rich Boyz, which expired at the end of last month (June).

The 27-year-old made 11 appearances for Bay in all competitions. He is a utility player who can feature both as a defensive midfielder and a centre-back.

He helped the side to survive relegation through winning the PSL/promotional playoffs, featuring in every minute of the mini tournament.

His exit at Bay comes as a shock as he seemed to be the heart of the side throughout the brief spell that he spent at the KwaZulu-Natal-based outfit.

The former Orlando Pirates defender is currently unattached and he is free to join a team of his choice. Bay boasted their squad in the midfield position as they signed Siyethemba Sithebe and Tlakusani Mthethwa.
