Kaizer Chiefs Football Manager Bobby Motaung has hinted that his club could still sign more players this transfer window, while head coach Arthur Zwane insisted the club will not sign out of desperation.
So far, Chiefs have added new striker Christian Saile Basomboli from Nchanga Rangers in Zambia, while the club also announced they have signed SuperSport United defender Thatayaone Dithlokwe on a pre-contract.
However, with things not going 100% as planning for Zwane and his team in 2022/23, many fans hope to see more new arrivals before the January window shuts.
Bobby Motaung has given fans hope that there could be more arrivals, saying the club are still busy.
“It is never done until it’s over,” he told Kick Off.
“But at the moment we are still busy. We don’t know yet how many players we might add, it depends on what the needs are and what might be available on the market.”
Zwane also responded to questions whether the club are still on the hunt for a new No. 6 after Njabulo Blom was sold to St. Louis City SC, saying they’ll wait for the right player and moment.
“We keep looking for players, we’ll never stop looking for players,” he said when asked by iDiski Times.
“As I said, we’re looking for player that we think can come in [and add quality] rather than players that can add numbers because hasty decisions or because we’re showing desperation.
“Right now we’re not desperate. So we’ll wait for the right moment and when we get that No. 6 that we think can come in, then we’ll bring him on board.”
Time is running out, with the January closing in less than five days on 31 January.
