Cardoso Discusses Suarez Future

Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Miguel Cardoso has admitted that he’d like to keep on-loan centre-back Lucas Suarez beyond this season.

The Argentine joined the Betway Premiership defending champions in the January transfer window on loan from CA Talleres and made eight appearances for Sundowns, scoring one goal so far.

The 29-year-old was initially rested in his side’s 1-1 draw against Golden Arrows in midweek in Hammarsdale, but came off the bench at half-time.

The coach told the media after the encounter that though the decision lies with management he hopes they can tie down the defender.

“It’s a question of administration of course, it’s of the sports management of Mr Flemming Berg and the chairman,” said Cardoso when asked about the Uruguayan.

“Obviously he is a player that is showing his value, we trust him like all the others.

“Of course good players are players you’d like to keep. Let’s hope at the end of the season it’s a business that is possible. Let’s hope so.”
