Kaizer Chiefs youngster Xolani Cossa has signed his first professional contract with Amakhosi.
Cossa played for Chiefs’ DStv Diski Challenge side last season, helping them to secure their first ever title.
He has been rewarded with a senior contract by the club’s management but he will spend this season on loan at Black Lions FC in the Botswana Premier League, as confirmed by his agency Prosport International.
Cossa is a 21-year-old defender who has been making waves in the youth ranks, being named U19 Player of the Season in 2022, and voted Players’ Player of the Season at the end of the 2023/24 DDC campaign.
Lions, under the tutelage of former Magesi FC head coach Owen da Gama, have started the Botswana Premier League with three successive defeats, but Cossa will hope to gain valuable first-team experience before returning to Naturena at the end of the season.
