CT City Sign Ex-Pirates Goalkeeper

Cape Town City have completed the signing of former Orlando Pirates and Magesi FC goalkeeper Elson Sithole.

Sithole, 23, was released by Pirates at the beginning of the 2022/23 season after serving the club from junior levels to the DStv Diski Challenge, even winning Goalkeeper of the Tournament at the Engen Knockout Challenge.

Sithole signed with Venda Football Academy immediately after he was released by the Buccaneers, but the Pirate’s youth development player only lasted one season there before making a move to Magesi FC.

Sithole gained promotion with Magesi from the Motsepe Foundation Championship to the DStv Premiership after one season with the club.

iDiski Times understands that Sithole has now signed with City ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.

The Blue Army recently released Bongani Mpandle, and Sithole is expected to compete with Darren Keet and Luca Diana Olario for that first-choice position.

City have been among the busiest clubs in the transfer market already, announcing the exits of Jo Pacienca, Thabiso Kutumela, Khanya Leshabela, Relebogile Mokhuoane and Mpandle.

While the club are yet to announce new signings, iDiski Times understands they have agreed deals with Haashim DomingoKamohelo MokotjoFortune Makaringe and Carlinhos.
