Kaizer Chiefs Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr. has rebuffed claims that some clubs in the Betway Premiership make it difficult to complete transfers with the Soweto giants.
Chiefs are in the market for new players, especially forwards, as Kaizer Jr. confirmed on Thursday.
However, they have struggled to bring in some of their targets like Oswin Appollis, whose agent confirmed the club and the player’s representatives struggled to get hold of Polokwane City chairman Johnny Mogaladi at time in the recent window.
With the January window closing in less than two weeks, Kaizer Jr. has insisted there is no such thing as some clubs not wanting to do business with them, but negotiations and rejections are part of the game.
“To be fair, I don’t even entertain that,” he stated.
“We’re here all the other clubs are our partners. We are stakeholders in the league. We need each other. They need us. We need them. And it’s a situation of us coming to negotiations.
“They always will have their standpoint. They want to keep their best players. If you had to ask me, anybody coming to ask, you know, ‘sell us Shabalala’, I would say, No.
“It’s part of negotiations. It’s part of the industry. It’s part of the business. They have their goals they want to achieve. We have ours.
“So it’s about us engaging in a positive way and trying your best you can to achieve the goals.
“So we respect them and respect they respect us. And it’s part of the industry, and you find that, you know, worldwide.”
