Former Bafana Bafana head coach Carlos Queiroz will take charge of Oman in their bid to reach the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the US.
The former Real Madrid and Portugal manager enters the fray with Oman having reached the fourth round of the Asian Football Confederation’s (AFC) qualifiers.

They finished fourth in Group B following a 1-1 draw with Palestine to secure their spot in the next phase.
Oman’s Football Association made the announcement of Queiroz’s appointment this week.
The 72-year-old has extensive coaching experience, having led national teams like Portugal, Iran, Colombia, Egypt, and Qatar.
He also once served as Sir Alex Ferguson’s assistant coach at Manchester United.
