Ex-Bucs Winger Set For Royal AM Exit

Former Orlando Pirates winger Menzi Masuku will leave Royal AM when his contract comes to an end on June 30.

Masuku, 31, crossed over to Twihli Thwahla when Reality TV star and businesswoman Shauwn Mkhize purchased the PSL status of Bloemfontein Celtic in 2021.

He helped the KwaZulu-Natal-based outfit preserve their DStv Premiership status this campaign as they finished in 14th position. He also captained the side on a few occasions along with his former Pirates teammate Thabo Matlaba.

iDiski Times has gathered that Masuku opted not to extend his stay at the KZN side even though it’s thought the club was eager to retain his services beyond the expiration of his contract.

The former Chippa United midfielder made over 130 appearance for Siwelele and Royal AM combined since 2018 when he made his move to the City of Roses.

John Maduka’s side is still under a FIFA ban after failing to honour duo Samir Nurkovic and Ricardo Nascimento‘s contracts, and will therefore not be allowed to sign players for the upcoming season.

During the 2023/24 campaign, Masuka made 19 appearances for Royal AM across all competitions, scoring three goals and providing a further three assists.
