Mozambican giants Uniao Desportiva de Songo have officially unveiled former Baroka FC and Polokwane City midfielder Manuel Kambala.
The 32-year-old earned the nickname ‘Lord Kambala’ in South African football circles after breaking Kaizer Chiefs hearts when he netted the equalizer for Bakgakga that denied Amakhosi the league title on the last day of the season in 2020/21.
Kambala, who hails from Quelimane, has spent the majority of his playing career in Mzansi, turning out for Baroka, Magesi FC and Rise and Shine since arriving in 2019.

Kambala was along with former Mamelodi Sundowns and Al Ahly winger Luis Miquissone as well as veteran attacker Elias Pelembe unveiled as the club’s new signings, just to mention a few.
“The União Desportiva do Songo (UDSongo) announces the return of Manuel Kambala,” the club announced on Facebook.
“The central midfielder, Kambala, winner of the 2016 Mozambique Cup, national champion in 2017 and 2018, has been in South Africa in recent seasons, where he represented the following teams: Boroka FC (2019 to 2022), Magesi FC (2023) and Polokwani (2023/2024).
“The board of the União Desportiva do Songo would like to welcome Manuel Kambala.”
Last season, Kambala failed to hit the back of the net or provide any assists in 22 outings during his time in Limpopo, which prompted the club not to extend his stay beyond June 2024.
