Former Orlando Pirates midfielder Marshall Munetsi will spend the remainder of the season in France after completing a loan move from Wolves to Ligue 1 newcomers Paris FC.

The 29-year-old Zimbabwean international who controversially missed the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations, has been released on loan by Wolves, with the deal containing no option to buy. Instead, the move is viewed as a short-term solution designed to give Munetsi regular minutes and a platform to rediscover his rhythm after a frustrating campaign in England.

Munetsi has found game time hard to come by this season, starting just once under Edwards, in November, which marked the new coach’s first match in charge. Since then, his involvement has been sporadic, with minutes largely limited to substitute appearances.

The move to Paris FC offers Munetsi a chance to reassert himself at a club eager to establish its footing at the top level of French football.

Munetsi is no stranger to France, having played for five years for Stade de Reims, who he joined from Pirates.
