Former Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Cedric Kaze has given a bit of an insight into Amakhosi’s new signing Adolf Mtasingwa Bitegeko, saying the midfielder is very good when he’s healthy.
Mtasingwa, 27, was announced as Amakhosi’s third acquisition under new head coach Fernando Da Cruz, joining Thabo Moloisane and Renaldo Leaner.
Kaze knows the player from his time in the Tanzanian league while working for Young Africans, with Mtasingwa playing for Azam – the club Chiefs signed him from.
The former Azam captain has also been abroad between 2018 and 2023, featuring for clubs like KR Reykjavik, Keflavik, and Volsungur in Iceland.
The Sekhukhune United head coach was asked about Mtasingwa on Sports Night Amplified With Andile Ncube on Tuesday and said he is also an intelligent player.
“I do know him,” said Kaze.
“I have played against him a couple of times when I was at Younga against Azam. He’s a good player, good technical player, very intelligent.
“And he’s a player that has not played a lot lately because of injuries, but he’s a player that when he’s healthy he’s a very good player.”
Asked if the player can shake up the league, Kaze opted for a more politically correct answer.
“It depends as well but when he’s at his best he’s a good player that can help and he’s as well a very good kid,” he stated.
