Former Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates star Thembinkosi Lorch is likely to be available as a free agent in the next transfer window.

With the player notably absent from Al Ittihad’s recent league squads under head coach Fouazi Benzarti, it’s been suggested the two parties are nearing a mutual separation.

Lorch was in talks over a move to Mas Fes – the reigning Botola Pro champions who also signed Tshegofatso Mabasa and Devin Titus – but failed to agree personal terms in the window that recently passed.

Reports in Libya suggest there’s been interest in Egypt and Algeria as well for the experienced winger.

Lorch, 33, was lured to the Libyan club from Wydad Athletic Club shortly before the appointment of Rulani Mokwena.

However, after failing to qualify for the CAF Champions League, Mokwena and the club parted ways and he’s since moved on to ambitious Egyptian Premier League outfit Pyramids FC, where has had a brilliant start, winning his first 10 games in charge.

Lorch was then linked with a return to Wydad, where experienced a great career revival under Mokwena, becoming one of two South African players to score at the extended FIFA Club World Cup.

However, the Moroccan giants never made an official offer for the services of the former Orlando Pirates star, leaving the door open for Mas Fes.

But it seems both parties were not able to agree personal terms, with Lorch on a significant salary package in Libya.
