New Mamelodi Sundowns signing Thembinkosi Lorch has revealed why he made the switch from Orlando Pirates to Chloorkop.
Lorch, 30, completed a Deadline Day move between the two South Africa giants, as first reported by iDiski Times.
With the move shocking many in the local football fraternity, Lorch has now explained he wanted to take the next step in his career after spending seven-and-a-half years with the Buccaneers.
“Leaving was tough, given the time I spent wearing the Pirates jersey and the love I received from the fans,” he told Sundowns Magazine.
“However, I believe that making this move is a crucial step in my career at this time. Being in this new environment and joining a winning team like Sundowns feels incredibly satisfying.
“I am eager to contribute my best and continue achieving success in this new chapter of my football journey.”
Lorch also shared how his family reacted to the move: “Whatever makes me happy, they always support me,” he added.
“Of course, some family members didn’t see the move coming, but that is football. Change is part of the game and I appreciate the support from those closest to me.”
