Mabasa Set For Swallows, Maduna Next In Line

Moroka Swallows have secured the season-long loan of Tshegofatso Mabasa and are in talks to rope in Siphesihle Maduna from AmaZulu.

Orlando Pirates confirmed last month that talks were ongoing for Mabasa to join their Swallows for the 2023/24 season after he returned from his stint with Sekhkhune United.

iDiski Times can confirm the South Africa international striker concluded his move on Thursday and the club is now looking to lure Maduna next to Dobsonville Stadium.

The playmaker was informed that he’s not part of the first-team plans under new Usuthu head coach Pablo Franco, and sources close to the club have suggested a swap deal is close to being concluded which will see long-serving midfielder Tlakusani Mthethwa move to KZN.

Andile Jali, Lantshene Phalane and Victor Bakah’s arrival saw the 30-year-old potentially falling down the pecking order and with the need to add an attacking midfielder, the prospective move has been put into motion.

There’s been a new sense of optimism around the Dube Birds this season with the ‘rebirth’ of Moroka Swallows added to the appointment of Steve Komphela.

Tshanini Falakhe, Keanan Phillips and Dumisani Zuma wrap up their incoming signings along with the latest coup of Mabasa.
