Maduna Close To Joining New PSL Club

Cape Town Spurs are edging closer to completing the signing of former AmaZulu FC midfielder Siphesihle Maduna.

On Saturday, AmaZulu confirmed that Maduna has left the club on a mutual agreement.

He got promoted in 2018 from Usuthu’s DStv Diski Challenge team and was a regular for a few seasons, making 87 appearances in all competitions, but he has not played this campaign.

The KwaZulu-born midfielder was at one stage linked with a move to Kaizer Chiefs, but it never materialised as he remained at Usuthu. At the beginning of the season he was also linked with a move to Moroka Swallows.

A close source has now confirmed to this publication that Maduna arrived at Spurs on Friday and trained with the side on the same day under the watchful eye of Ernst Middendorp.

There are ongoing talks to put pen to paper for the 24-year-old, as the Urban Warriors aim to survive relegation.

The Cape Town-based side are sitting at the bottom of the table, with only one win and one draw in 16 games. They aim to change their fortunes when the season resumes in February.
