Former Kaizer Chiefs youth development Omega Mdaka has been spotted training with Stellenbosch FC.
Mdaka and Puso Dithejane left Amakhosi late last year after they allegedly refused to be the ball retrievers in a game against AmaZulu FC.
Dithejane quickly completed a move to TS Galaxy and became a regular for the Rockets, making 14 appearances in all competitions.
Mdaka trained with AmaZulu for a few weeks before coach Pablo Franco Martin confirmed that there was a problem between the Usuthu and Amakhosi to complete the deal.
“I think he was a good player, very interesting for the club. But from what I heard there was some problem with the negotiations between the clubs and his release clause from Chiefs, so it was impossible to finalize the deal,” Martine said at the time.
Mdaka has now resurfaced at the Cape Winelands side with the hope of getting himself a contract for the upcoming 2024/25 season.
