Namibian AFCON Star – My Dream Is To Play For Chiefs

Black Leopards and Namibia striker Bethuel Muzeu has revealed that his dream is to play for Premier Soccer League side Kaizer Chiefs.

Muzeu was with the Brave Warriors at the on-going Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) where his country was eliminated at the Last 16 by Angola.

Despite the elimination this was Namibia’s most successful AFCON appearance in history, as they managed to win their first-ever game and get out of the group for the first time as well.

The 23-year-old was instrumental in that win over Tunisia in Group E, assisting Deon Hotto’s goal that won the match.

Even domestically the striker has done well for Leopards, sitting on 10 goals and leaving Li Doda Duvha in ninth place with 23 points, just four points from the promotional playoffs spot.

Muzeu told iDiski Times writer Lethabo Kganyago in the latest edition of the newspaper (sign up here to get it free on WhatsApp) that the AFCON campaign was a positive one and he hopes to go far in his career, and even play for Kaizer Chiefs, a team he grew up supporting and his dream team.

“The dream is to play far, to make your name high,” Muzeu told iDiski Times.

“So every chance you get you must use it. So to be honest, my dream is to play for Kaizer Chiefs. So one day is one day I will make it. And I believe God will help me.”

“I grew up watching Kaizer Chiefs, the likes of [Reneilwe] Letsholonyane, Siphiwe Tshabalala, [Bernard] Parker, Pule Ekstein. I grew up watching those guys.

“They made my football era growing up to be so wonderful. I grew up watching them and it’s my dream team and one day I’m going to play there.”
