New Mamelodi Sundowns striker Iqraam Rayners has been spotted in training at Chloorkop, although the club are yet to officially confirm his arrival.
Rayners, 28, has completed a move from Stellenbosch FC to Masandawana after the Betway Premiership champions activated his release clause to fend off strong interest from North Africa.
The speedy striker is the latest key player to leave Stellies after Deano Van Rooyen was unveiled by Orlando Pirates.
Although, Sundowns haven’t officially announced the signing of Rayners, coach Manqoba Mngqithi had already discussed that they added Rayners with focus on the CAF Champions League after his side’s 1-0 MTN8 win over Polokwane City.
The striker has now also been spotted at Chloorkop in training, with his announcement seemingly imminent.
Rayners scored 38 goals and set up 18 more in two stints at the Cape Winelands-based side. It’s his second stint in Pretoria after running out for Sundowns’ cross-town rivals SuperSport United between July 2020 and January 2023.
