Al-Ettifaq winger Mohau Nkota has revealed that his friend and former teammate Relebohile Mofokeng reacted positively to his move to the Saudi Pro League.
Nkota, 20, impressed in his breakout season last campaign playing – side by side with Mofokeng.
The speedy winger had a 12 goal contribution in 39 matches across all competitions for Pirates, catching the attention of Al-Ettifaq.
With Mofokeng linked with the same same side, Nkota has revealed how the Pirates star reacted to his move.
“He was happy for me. He said go,” Nkota told Andile Ncube on Sports Night Amplified.
“I talked to him about it after they announced, I sat with him in the bus. They announced after a friendly game we had in Spain, we went into the bus and when everyone took out their phones they were surprised.
“They [my new club] said to me I mustn’t say anything [about the move] because if I tell one it’s gone.”
Some people believe Nkota’s move has somehow affected Mofokeng psychologically but the Kimberly-born youngster is not really concerned with this, as believes Mofokeng will be okay and wished him an even better season.
“I don’t know what’s happening to my boy now but he’s going to be okay,” added Nkota.
“People are talking but I don’t know, actually, that’s not my focus. I wish him all the best. I hope he does better than last season.”
