Nkota On His Saudi Move In Relation To Bafana

New Ettifaq Club signing Mohau Nkota admits he doesn’t know what the future holds at Bafana Bafana having recently left South African shores for Saudi Arabia.

The former Orlando Pirates winger penned a three-year deal with the Saudi Pro League outfit after just one season in topflight football eSgodini.

Nkota enjoyed an impressive maiden campaign in the Betway Premiership where he helped Pirates to a second-place finish in the league, MTN8 success, the semi-finals of the CAF Champions league and the Nedbank Cup final while also breaking into the national team.

The 20-year-old was part of Hugo Broos’ side that played international friendlies against Tanzania and Mozambique producing two assists in the 2-0 win over the Mambas.

Speaking to Michael Morton on Mike Morton Talks Football, Nkota said he is not sure if the move to Saudi Arabia will have an impact on him making the 2025 AFCON squad however, insisted he will continue working hard and raising his hand.

“We don’t know,” said Nkota.

“As I’m saying, I’ve been given the chance in the friendly against Mozambique, and I delivered two assists. So, it’s up to the coach, but I’m going there to work. But it’s up to the coach whether he calls me or he doesn’t, but I’m going to work. I’m going to make sure I deliver everything.

Meanwhile, the winger said he was going to miss the Ghost fans thanking them for cheering him on.

“They are so loud they love the club, and they are so loyal to the club,” added Nkota.

“So, for me it’s going to be a sad thing to move because I’m going to miss them. How they shout my name when I play at Orlando Stadium. I want to say to them thank you to the Orlando Pirates fans for being there for me and for supporting me all this way. I know I just played one season but I’m going to miss you guys.

“I’m going to shout for you guys on the other side. Thank you very much.”
