Chippa United goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has interest from Europe as well as Steven Gerrard’s Al Ettifaq after his fine performances at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Nwabali, 27, had been a wanted man, even before his superb AFCON with Nigeria, with Kaizer Chiefs said to be among the local club’s interested in his services.
He’s kept seven clean sheets in 15 appearances for Chippa so far this campaign. But he gained wider attraction at the AFCON, where he kept four clean sheets to help the Super Eagles finish as runners-up.
As a consequence, several clubs from abroad are understood to have enquired about him. According to Fabrizio Romano, Gerrard’s Al Ettifaq and Championship side Queens Park Rangers have enquired about him.
Chippa seem open to the sale of Nwabali and have already brought in Darren Johnson from AmaTuks.
