Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed the signing of Flávio Silva from Persebaya Surabaya in Indonesia.
The 29-year-old joins on a free transfer after scoring nine goals with two assists in 33 games for Liga One side who finished fourth in the top-flight last season.
“We are pleased to announce the signing of Portuguese striker Flávio Silva from Persebaya Surabaya in Indonesia. The Guinea Bissau-born player will wear jersey #77,” Chiefs stated.
In the season prior, he netted 23 goals for Persik, finishing runner-up for the Golden Boot award, while he also had a stint in Luxembourg since leaving his homeland of Portugal.
The towering striker is a product of the Sporting Lisbon youth academy and Benfica B, Alverca, Amora FC, San Antonio, Torreense, Mafra, Madeira Union, Real SC, SC Covilhã in a nomadic career thus far.
He will wear the number 77 shirt with Amakhosi and appears like the direct replacement for Ranga Chivaviro, who parted ways with the club.
