Cape Town City have announced they have agreed to “a deal in principle” with KF Liria for Africa Cup of Nations sensation, Prins Menelik Tjiueza.
This publication had earlier reported that City were racing against time to finalise a deal for the Namibia international.
However, the Citizens have now announced the transfer, subject to completion of documentation.
Tjiueza is currently at the African Cup Of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire, and has helped The Brave Warriors to qualify for the knockout stages for the very first time.
The 21-year-old helped Namibia to their first-ever win at the tournament when they beat Tunisia 1-0. Following a goalless draw with Mali in their final Group E match, Namibia booked their place into the Round of 16 where they will face Angola.
Tijueza was playing in Kosovo for FK Liria, making 13 appearances in the league this season, scoring four goals and assisting on one occasion.
He was also linked with a transfer to Mamelodi Sundowns last season but no official move was made for the talented number 10.
