Switzerland youth international Rubén del Campo has returned to Spain with Murcia CF after initial discussions with Kaizer Chiefs.
The Soweto giants had agreed personal terms with the striker who was available on a free transfer upon leaving Atlético Ottawa.
However, the deal was called off, with Chiefs opting to pursue other targets, with Tashreeq Morris set to arrive in a swap deal with Christian Saile and Glody Lillepo being chased from French club Valenciennes.
Del Campo now returns to the country where he turned out for San Fernando, Melilla, Numancia and Atletico de Madrid – the club who lured him from Young Boys in his homeland as a promising teenage striker.
