Durban City have announced the signing of former Bafana Bafana midfielder Ethan Brooks after he spent one campaign with Greek Super League club Panserraikos FC.
However, after Panserreikos’ relegation to the Super League Greece 2, Brooks was again on the lookout for a new club.
Durban City have now swooped in to strengthen their squad for the upcoming CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
On Saturday, Durban announced the signing of the former TS Galaxy and AmaZulu midfielder alongside Mali left-back Alou Doumbia.
“Durban City FC is pleased to announce the signing of Ethan Brooks and Alou Doumbia as the Club continues to build its squad as the 2026/27 campaign continues,” the club stated.
“The two players have completed their moves to the Citizens, joined their teammates in camp, and have already started training with the squad.
“Brooks, 24, returns to South African football after spending the 2025/26 season with Greek side Panserraikos.”
Brooks was part of the early wave of Hugo Broos’ Bafana selections, making 11 appearances, the last in a 0-0 with Guinea in March 2022.
