Official: Ex-Pirates Coach Announces Raja Exit

Josef Zinnbauer’s assistant Fadlu Davids has announced his exit from Raja Athletic Club after their unbeaten double campaign.

The former Orlando Pirates co-head coach is set to be unveiled as new Simba coach, as first reported by iDiski Times.

For Davids to move to the Tanzanian giants, he had to end his deal with Raja after their ‘Invincibles’ campaign in the technical team of Josef Zinnbauer.

Raja won the Botola Pro unbeaten, winning 21 games, drawing nine to beat incoming Kaizer Chiefs coach, Nasreddine Nabi’s ASFAR by one point. A week later, they also beat ASFAR in the Throne Cup final to celebrate an unprecedented unbeaten double.

Fadlu Davids, Josef Zinnbauer, Mueez Kajee and Darian Wilken.

Raja’s exploits this season have awoken interest in their technical team, with Zinnbauer linked with Al Wehda, while Davids is close to joining Simba.

The former Maritzburg United coach will take over Simba and his arrival will be announced soon.

iDiski Times has been informed that Davids has agreed a two-year deal with Simba and will rope in Darian Wilken as his assistant, while Mueez Kajee will join as his performance analyst, both of whom were part of the historic Raja technical team this past season.

Former Mamelodi Sundowns strength and conditioning coach Riedoh Berdien, who was previously working in Tanzania with Young Africans, has also been confirmed as part of the technical team.

Davids has now announced his Raja exit, stating “No words can describe the emotions I am feeling. I hope the above does some justice.”
